another terrence malick film i am completely in love with is badlands. it's essentially a bonnie and clyde story, told with malicks amazing honeyed light and sissy spaceks darling drawl. there is a part where, after killing her father, the two young lovers run off to the woods to live in a tree house -- when i first saw the this it was like every single teenage/bruce springsteen/rebel dream i ever had come true. anyway, sissy looks amazing throughout the whole thing, and a super young martin sheen isn't too bad either. once again, if you haven't seen this movie please please do - it is one of the best, ever.
